For the selection of the appropriate pump for our application, we must consider the following:
- Flow, ie the amount of water or liquid that the pump can provide.
- Suction height (for surface pumps), ie the height from the surface of the water we pump to the inlet of the pump.
- Exit height, ie the maximum height that reaches the water after the pump’s outlet.
- Head (manometric height), ie the distance from the surface of the water we pump to the maximum height that the water reaches from the outlet of the pump. The head of a pump is obtained if we add the suction height with the exit height.
