Pumping

For the selection of the appropriate pump for our application, we must consider the following:

Flow, ie the amount of water or liquid that the pump can provide.
Suction height (for surface pumps), ie the height from the surface of the water we pump to the inlet of the pump.
Exit height, ie the maximum height that reaches the water after the pump’s outlet.
Head (manometric height), ie the distance from the surface of the water we pump to the maximum height that the water reaches from the outlet of the pump. The head of a pump is obtained if we add the suction height with the exit height.

Surface Pumps

The main body of the surface pump is located outside the space of the liquids we want to pump and only the pipe enters this space.

Automatic suction pumps have the ability to lift clean water along with air. The maximum suction height for these pumps is about 10 meters. Recommended uses: Home and small irrigation uses (garden), as well as water distribution.
Peripheral pumps are characterized by high performance with low power consumption. The maximum suction height for these pumps is about 8 meters. Recommended uses: Home water distribution.
Centrifugal pumps provide good water flow at medium head. The maximum suction height for these pumps is about 8 meters. Recommended uses: Home uses as well as water distribution.
Multi-stage pumps provide good water flow and high head depending on low power consumption. They are reliable, quiet and practical. The maximum suction height for these pumps is 7 meters. Recommended uses: Excellent for boosting pressure and garden irrigation.

Submersible Pumps

The main body of the submersible pump is immersed in the liquid and the suctioned liquid comes out with a pipe.

Submersible pumps for clean water commonly used to distribute clean water from tanks, cisterns and for any type of drainage.
Submersible pumps for sewage water used to pump wastewater, which contain particles up to about 50 mm in diameter.
Submersible pumps for wastes designed to pump home or public wastes.
Submersible borehole pumps designed to sink into the ground, into the boreholes.
Submersible well pumps designed to sink into wells.
